Learn N Earn

When:  Every other Thursday from 7pm to 8pm

Fall 2013 Schedule: October 24, November 7, November 21, and December 12

Where:  Kollel of Ottawa (1762 Carling Ave)

Please join us every second Thursday night from 7pm-8pm at the Kollel of Ottawa for Learn N Earn. Pick up a book, grab some snacks, and learn with someone one-on-one on any Jewish topic that interests you. You can earn either $10 cash or 1 Torah High hour every week. It’s open to all Jewish teens in Ottawa, so spread the word! This program is a great way to get Torah High hours or earn a little extra money for your parent’s retirement fund. See you there!

Jewish Culture Clubs

NCSY helps students across Ottawa run Jewish Culture Clubs in their public high schools. Jewish Culture Clubs are fun programs that take place at lunch and usually involve an activity, game, movie & discussion, and always food! The program is open to all students in the school. Sample programs include Make Your Own Donuts for Chanukah, Challah Braiding, Family Guy & Pizza & Discussion, Guest Speaker: Holocaust Survivor, Bake Your Own Purim Hamantashen, Chocolate Passover Seder, Gingerbread Sukkahs, Sushi Class, Krav Maga Demo, Fruit Smoothies for Tu B’Shvat, Make Your Own Shabbat Candles, and much more! Currently, there are Jewish Culture Clubs at the following high schools: Sir Robert Borden, Merivale, Lisgar, Canterbury, Glebe, John McCrae and Nepean. The latest clubs will be on www.facebook.com/NCSYOttawa. To start one at your school, please contact Michael Goldstein at 613-869-8481 or rabbigoldstein@ncsy.ca.
